Hello Musicians,
I have put together a list of some opportunities for summer music camps in the lower mainland that may be of interest to you this summer. I have also added a list of non-school related ensembles that you might consider checking out – great for grads who want to maintain their musical skills!

This group is run by an amazing educator, Tim Sars (carnival band and a music teacher in richmond). A great low stress casual music making week for any level of student, mostly aimed at junior players but would be a great opportunity to learn a new instrument or help with teaching for senior students.
VSO JAZZ CAMP
July 14-18 & July 21-25 (two different sessions)
9:00 AM -5:00 PM
AGE 14yrs – adult
FEE
$650 per 5-day camp

Led by Canadian music education visionary, Jodi Proznick. This camp is for the more serious students with a few years of experience playing their instruments. There are lots of amazing faculty and also teaching assistants, this program is a real community. Some of the people who have attended this camp are now very successful musicians, educators and artists living around the whole world.

Check out the Canadian Drumline association! I strongly recommend attending this event if anyone is available. The price is very affordable, and these summer programs can really be those moments that students take with them for the rest of their lives.
The CDA is excited to announce that we are bringing back the CDA Summer Drumline Camp with Michael Beauclerc! At the moment, we have confirmed our first camp to be held at Port Moody Secondary School for the Metro Vancouver area from August 11-14, and are working on finalizing plans for a Fraser Valley Camp from August 5-8. These camps will run for 4 whole days, include all of the equipment and lunches and be directed by Michael Beauclerc for the price of only $295 per registrant! Registration is limited to students currently enrolled in high school (Grade 8-12) and no previous drumline experience is necessary!
