Semester 1 Showcase Band Concert

Hello everyone,

The Argyle Semester 1 Showcase is coming up on Jan 18, 2023, and we are excited to be able to showcase the work that some of the work our ensembles have been doing this semester.

Due to the recent flooding in the Argyle gymnasiums, the Semseter 1 Showcase Concert has been moved from the gyms to the Theatre and Multipurpose area. This will also just be a Band showcase featuring Concert Band 8 and Junior Jazz Band, and the Choir & Strings portion of the event will take place later in the month (coordinated by the Choir & Strings teachers).

As mentioned in class, we are looking at moving the event earlier, and it is now confirmed that the concert will take place between 6 – 6:45PM in the Argyle theatre / multi-purpose area. Call time is 5:45PM and all students are asked to help with either set up or clean up for the events. Set up will happen right after school, and clean up will happen after the event. Student sign up will take place in class later next week.

We will discuss the dress code during the next class rehearsal.

If there is an anticipated conflict, please let me know immediately. Please note that concerts are akin to final exams in band, and it is expected that all students will attend. We are also feeling extremely grateful to be able to return to in person events and performances.
