Argyle Music Association Scholarships
A number of scholarships and bursaries are available to students of the Argyle Music Department. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants proceeding from Grade 12 to any post secondary educational institution, or to applicants who undertake a program to maintain and develop their musical talents.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION, AN APPLICANT MUST:
have obtained at least a 2.5 grade point average during Gr 11 and 12
Have strong qualities of character and leadership
Have demonstrated proficiency in music performance
Be a regular member of Concert Band, Concert Choir or Strings
Have attended Argyle in Gr 11 and 12 or have attended in Gr 12 at Argyle and have a letter of recommendation from a former school outside the District indicating musical participation and accomplishments. Students wishing to apply should do so by letter to:

The LETTER of APPLICATION should be received BEFORE TUESDAY MAY 16, 2017.
The APPLICANT MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Your name and a description of your music experience at Argyle
Community/ work/ volunteer activities and extra-curricular accomplishments
Provide a transcript of your Gr 11 and 12 marks, including mid-semester marks of final semester (NOT needed if you have applied for any other Argyle scholarship)
The names of those providing the letters of reference (see below) on your behalf.
Indication of whether other scholarships or bursaries have been applied for
Your plans for the future
APPLICATION for BURSARIES: In addition to scholarship, those with unmet financial needs may apply for bursaries. To apply, include an additional statement explaining your financial situation and how it affects your post secondary goals
TWO LETTERS of Reference are required. REFERENCES MUST BE SUPPLIED BY:
A person, outside of the Argyle Music Department, who will attest to your music ability, or if Ms. Chan, Mrs. Roberts are your only music sources, please speak with them personally.
A person, other than a relative, who knows you, in regard to your character and leadership, and is aware of your participation in community activities
SCHOLARSHIP ASSESSMENT CRITERIA: 1. Professionalism/ Musicianship in class
2. Contribution to Argyle Music program
3. Community / Extra Curricular involvment
Selection of the scholarship winners will be made by the Argyle Music Association Scholarship Committee.The scholarships will be awarded at the Graduation Ceremony Sunday June 11, 2017.
